ADENOVIRUS GENOME DIVERSITY
Alignment of the Complete Genomic Sequences of Human Adenoviruses 02, 05, 12, 17, and 40
by Raja Mazumder and Don Seto
Methodology
Ad2 and Ad5 were aligned with MAP [Xiaoqiu 1994]. Results were modified and saved in UNIX Text Editor JOT.
Consensus sequence of Ad2 and Ad5 was generated in GCG.
Ad17 was then aligned to the consensus of Ad2 and Ad5, and another consensus was created
from the alignment.
This step was repeated with Ad40 and Ad12 so that all the genomes could be aligned.
All the alignments were imported into GCG for viewing and/or further editing.
The gaps present at the end of the alignments were deleted.
