I am proud to be a part of the BGSO as it is an integral part our program. I have previously held leadership positions, the most prestigious as the first female Student Government President of my junior college. Vice President - Hoang Trong Minh Tuan
“I’m Tuan, coming from Vietnam where I earned my bachelor degree in Computer Science & Engineering. Later on, I took my Master Degree in Computer Engineering in South Korea. As a member of BGSO, I’m willing to contribute to the multiformed activities of BGSO, making it an ideal place for graduate students in the department to exchange the information and to enjoy their student lifes at GMU.”

Secretary - Andy Heekin
“I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I received my BSCS from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I received an MS in Biomedical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. I have worked as a software engineer in industry for over 12 years. I came to George Mason in the Fall of 2007.”

Treasurer - Ammar Naqvi
“I am a Masters student in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology department. I am also an active member of the Open Bioinformatics Foundation, which is an international consortium of Bioinformatics programmers working on the development of free tools and programs for the scientific community. I have previously worked at the University of California and the Salk Institute in San Diego researching cancer and functional genomics. Currently, I am working at the Microbiome Analysis Center in analyzing and investigating microbial DNA samples from diseased and healthy patients. I look forward to working with the BGSO and hope we can all learn from one another.”
